Hampshire Association of Local Councils

6th May 2011

ImageThe Hampshire Association of Local Councils Ltd (the ALC) is an independent third sector membership organisation and not for profit company limited by guarantee, serving and representing the interests of local councils across Hampshire.

The ALC was founded in 1948 when local government reforms began after the Second World War.  For more than sixty years now, the ALC has provided advice, representation, networking, services and support to member councils and parish meetings, assisted by its primary partner Hampshire County Council.  The ALC is owned and governed by its members.

The ALC is affiliated to the National Association of Local Councils and works closely with like-minded and customer-focussed county associations.
