TAF Best Practice Exchange 2011

18th November 2011

ImageThe Trade Association Forum Best Practice Exchange event was held on 3rd November 2011. e-mango was proud to support the event again by being a sponsor.

There was an interesting mix of key speakers at the event including Rt. Hon Chris Grayling MP and Rt. Hon David Blunkett MP.

Throughout the day there was a range of keynote speeches, discussion groups and masterclasses, which were interesting to delegates and exhibitors alike.

Gordon Fong, Managing Director of e-mango, held a Masterclass called "Going Smart and Going Mobile" that was fully booked and very well received by those in attendance. After a short presentation, the slides of which are attached to this article, there was open discussion from the delegates on how they have used or looking to use mobile technology and services to the benefit of their members.

One important point to come out of the discussions was not to assume that mobile apps will get replaced by more modern web sites because there are some things that smartphones can do that web sites won't be able to do or do so readily, such as interact with the camera, GPS, address book and so on.

Mobile versions of web sites, social media interaction and smartphones being the main technology communication tool for some sector members was also discussed.

Some of the technology discussed in the session included e-mango's app for conferences and exhibitions, Aurasma's augmented reality app, Roambi's dynamic reports app and a social media aggregator app called Sonar.

The Trade Association Forum events are great networking opportunities for senior association executives and recommended by e-mango.
